The Grade 2 students created dioramas about a celebration, festival or ritual of their choice. The dioramas included many of the following features: special colors, decorations, activities, games, special food, dates, a purpose or meaning and symbols.
For the final assessment in our current unit of inquiry, students planned and created their own celebration. The children needed to have a meaning or purpose for their celebration or ritual, symbols, activities, games, decorations, special colors, a song or dance, a visual display and it needed a date. Grade 3 students came down to enjoy our celebrations and they had a wonderful time. Here are some photos of the 2G students sharing their learning.
Dear 2G Parents,
I wanted to share a brief update. First, 2G students will have their individual photos for the yearbook on Thursday, December 11th at 2:00 PM. Next, I would like to remind everyone that our winter class party will occur on Wednesday, December 17th at 2:00 PM. Regarding this party, there is a white envelope in your child's backpack from the class parents for you to select which item you would like to bring. Please check for this envelope tonight, and return it as soon as you can. Thanks. I would also like to share a special thanks to the 2G & 2R class parents for organizing this party, planning the 2G/2R student gifts, and for picking up the gifts for the children we support for the Angel Tree Orphanage. Sincere regards, Steve |
