2G students went on a nature walk behind school to write about what they see, hear, smell, taste and touch. The students need to use their imagination for taste. This activity was for our 6 Traits "Ideas" focus where students learned that good ideas have strong and specific details, and often include the 5 senses. Also, this activity helped students practice using describing words or adjectives which they are also learning about. Please check out the photos below. Students practiced there understanding of greater than, less than, place value, odd/even and many other numeracy skills today using a math tiles program and resources by Marcy Cook (a Mathematics G Dear Parents, I have attached our updated class schedule below. Art was moved from Wednesday Period 6 to Tuesday Period 3. Also, ICT was moved from Friday Period to Wednesday Period 6. These changes were made so that Upper Elementary Teachers can attend their planning meeting on Wednesday Period 6. However, this benefits our class because we have have back to back periods of ICT/Inquiry on Wednesday Periods 5 and 6. This is important to have back to back periods as Grade 2 children need extended time for digital portfolios and other tech projects that we will be doing this year.
